Yep, and they even released the numbers to prove it, the bastards. Yes, despite a rise in violent crime for the second consecutive year, FBI arrests for mafijuana offenses reached an all time high last year with 829,625 Americans pwnd by the feds. Eighty-nine percent of those arrests, the report goes on to say, were for simple possession. Bear in mind, of course, that the real picture is much worse given that these are merely federal case numbers and say nothing of the millions of Americans sitting in county jails for holding a couple joints. I'm continually amazed that a simple plant can rouse the ire of our overlords in such a drastic manner given that stoners are by and large peaceful, twinkie loving creatures. More Inside...
I mean really. Isn't it a bit silly that Michael Vick is getting hassled by the NFL over pot? Shouldn't they, if they are worried about anything at all, be concerned about performance enhancing drugs like steroids or HGH? Do they really think Vick will run faster or jump higher after toking a few joints?!
I mean seriously the situation with marijuana has gotten so bad that we have situations like this in which some asshat leaves his pot with a bunch of guns and coke in a DAY CARE CENTER. Yes, people now need guns to move a little bit of plant material around, and they are hiding them near children. Look around, there are stories every day hitting the wire about cops destroying plants. Even so, the stuff grows wild and occasionally people even just find it laying about, so with all the money and effort spent you have to wonder what effect it is having on "the drug problem" beyond putting otherwise innocent men and women in prison.
